Hayden was looking all glamoured-up while she attened Glamour Women of the Year Awards. She took home an award for Best Newcomer.

“Heroes” actress Hayden Panettiere has criticized Hollywood for harboring prejudiced opinions about women, insisting they shouldn’t be forced to slim down to be a successful star.

The 18-year-old hates the “size-zero” culture that has taken over the entertainment industry, and is convinced there is a huge amount of pressure on female stars to conform to Hollywood’s ideal body shape.

She says, “Beauty is an opinion, not a fact. The thing that most depresses me is Hollywood’s obsession with body image. I just don’t get it.

“The size-zero ideal is just ridiculous. The important thing is to feel comfortable with your own shape and not to look at others and feel inferior.

It’s tragic that girls feel they have to starve themselves to remain skinny.”

Hayden Panettiere is auctioning a whale-watching date with herself on eBay.

The Heroes actress is offering the winning bidder and five guests the chance to join her at a fundraising dinner at Eva Longoria’s restaurant, Beso.

The following week, the winner and their five friends will go to lunch and on a private whale-watching tour off the coast of California Speaking about the auction, Hayden said: “Dolphins and whales are the barometer to the health of our oceans. As go the dolphins and whales, so go the oceans, and then so goes life on earth.

Hayden Panettiere is the poster girl of hit television show Heroes. The plot of the series about ordinary people who suddenly discover they’ve got superpowers could almost work as a metaphor for the life of the 18-year-old. Overnight she was thrown into the global limelight by the phenomenal success of the show. Every word and action of this girl from upstate New York became newsworthy, including her wardrobe, the men on her arm and, perhaps more surprisingly, her politics.

Hayden rose to fame on account of the cheerleader role she plays in the super hit US TV series Heroes. But now the actress is all out to kill the cheerleader in her!

Hayden will now be appearing in the film Fireflies in the Garden, co-starring Julia Roberts. The movie is an emotional drama about a family torn apart by an unexpected tragedy and boasts of a star-studded cast with actors such as Ryan Reynolds, Willem Dafoe and Emily Watson.

In her endeavour to rise above her cult cheerleader image, Hayden has gone through a complete make-over. She’s even changed her hair colour and opted to go for a make-up free look!

But hers is no overnight success story. Aged just 18, she is already what you might call a showbiz veteran, with close to 50 credits to her name.

Born in Palisades, New York, the daughter of a fire-brigade lieutenant and an ex-soap actress, Panettiere began modelling as a baby and made her first TV commercial at 11 months.
